Adaptive Wi-Fi: Detect, Decide, Reconfigure

At this year’s summit in Vienna, Zilogic will showcase its Wi-Fi engineering capabilities through a demonstration focused on maintaining Quality of Experience (QoE) under changing network conditions, including external disturbances such as changes in noise floor, interference, and traffic load across the radio bands.

Edge AI-based algorithms support the decision-making process by identifying the principal contributors to performance degradation and determining the corrective actions required. The demonstration also shows how these decisions drive control-plane reconfiguration within the Linux stack, providing insight into why Wi-Fi performance is changing and what action can be taken.

Our ability to work across the Wi-Fi and Linux networking stack extends to detailed state-machine analysis, going deep enough to pinpoint exactly which states are driving degradation and quantify their individual impact. This level of granularity enables faster root-cause identification and a more precise corrective response, helping maintain a good QoE.

That analysis feeds into an edge-based optimization engine, positioned as SoC-agnostic and validated through comparative studies against similar offerings, with a derived set of tuning parameters for an optimal solution. A key part of this work was also evaluating the ML-worthiness of the problem, weighing where machine learning adds real value against its impact on CPU and memory utilization on constrained edge hardware.

This demonstrates more than just the application of AI. It shows Zilogic’s ability to understand Wi-Fi behaviour at the stack level, identify the root contributors to performance issues, and translate that knowledge into practical networking actions.
